Hypnosis

The way our brains store information must be understood before we can truly change how it works. Some people never change their minds, they find it hard to be objective or open-minded in general. Whatever opinions or impressions they have formed, no matter how little they know about it, will automatically come to the fore once any subject or situation arises. As we grow older age will play a big part in this tendency but it is more to do with how our brains are designed to operate.
My point is, once a subject is introduced, the first reaction is to produce a memory of a previous opinion/experience in relation to it, dating from the last time the subject was considered. This automatic response is the first hurdle to over come. If we could understand how these idea’s, concepts and impressions first get lodged there and with a word can be dredged back up maybe then we would start to realise how old, uninformed and wrong they can be and start to question why we are so loyal(as they don’t really even come from us) and attached to them as we are.
We are all under some level of hypnosis, blame the media, peer pressure or an inability to change our first impressions, but if we allow it the robotic part of our brain will automatically take over.
It will be far easier then to learn, building on or discarding our previous impressions. We do not have to be defined by our opinions, we are not stuck, not robotic, unless we want to be.

Two examples of characteristics you might know.

Some never go any further than what they know, don’t want to know anything else, period, head in the sand, honest at least. Related type:Hear what they want to hear.
Another will seem to listen to an opposing view but are only acting out a charade. They might even come up with their own argument, but this is still a device to deflect the fact they are not willing to truly consider another’s conflicting view, but at least they might not be considered by others as being closed minded.
